We’re 28 days into 2019 and I’m so behind on keeping The Polish Report updated! I’ve been neglecting my poor baby, but not on purpose. When you travel non-stop for your job finding the time and energy to commit is HARD! I’m also in the middle of planning my 30th birthday so there’s that. However, I’m hoping to change that in 2019 and bring you more content as well as some new content. With that being said, Pantone’s Color of the Year, if you don’t already know, is Living Coral. What stuck out to me the most about Pantone’s description of the color of the year and what it means is how Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression. Playful expression is what The Polish Report is all about. Staying polished as the best version of ourselves through our nails, wardrobes, hair, mental state…all of it! I’ve learned over the past two years that when your appearance is on point, it definitely helps channel a better mindset and how you approach the day. There’s a lot of truth in the saying “dress for success”. Even something as simple as a fresh manicure can completely alter your mood, and bring a positive/motivational force to your day.
So when looking to get that feel on our nails the following colors come to mind. Of course Pantone collaborates with Butter London every year to put out a collection, which can be found here, but I have some favorites that are just as good.
OPI – Got Myself into a Jam-balaya
Essie – Cute As A Button
Butter London – Trout Pout
You can also read up on Pantone’s Color of the Year 2019 in full detail here. I don’t really believe in New Year resolutions, as I feel working on yourself should be a never ending exercise. However, a little guidance and insight is always helpful and I look forward to these color themes that Pantone puts out every year. It makes self improvement fun!
Cheers to new adventures in 2019!
XO,
Melly
