The Oscars 2020

Award season comes to a close with The Academy Awards.  Although I never see a majority of the films being nominated, my favorite part about the Oscars is the red carpet fashion.  Those in attendance did not disappoint this year.  The amount of glamour and elegance was everything.  From breathtaking colors to gorgeous silhouettes, there was pure regalness walking down the red carpet.  Below I share with you my top ten favorite looks from the night.

Julia Butters

Along with receiving critical acclaim for her role in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ this adorable 10 year-old is a budding fashionista.  Dressed in Christian Siriano, she sent the designer a drawing of what she wanted to wear.  And well, the girl has an eye for fashion at such a young age.  I’m so looking forward to seeing how she’ll slay the red carpet as she grows older.

Zazie Beetz

I first became introduced to Zazie while watching a few episodes of ‘Atlanta’ while on a flight somewhere.  Instantly I thought how adorably cute she is.  Those feelings still remain.  On the red carpet dressed in Thom Browne she’s just adorable, but gives off this subtle sultriness to where you can’t keep your eyes off her.  Just stunning.

Cynthia Erivo

When Cynthia began her decent down the red carpet I was memorized.  She looks absolutely flawless in Versace.  The structure, the elegance, with a little hint of sass.  Cynthia’s look was perfection.

Renee Zellweger

First off, how can you not love Renee Zellweger?  ‘Chicago’ is one of my favorite movies and I absolutely loved her performance as Roxy Hart.  She’s timeless and so was her look on the red carpet.  Dressed in Armani Prive, Renee looked like an angelic dream.

Mindy Kaling

Yellow is such a GOOD color.  No matter the shade of yellow, it looks great on any skin tone.  So when I saw Mindy step on the red carpet in her yellow Dolce & Gabbana one shoulder dress, I immediately thought…she wins the night for color.  Talk about a regal look!

America Ferrera

Staying on the topic of color, America Ferrera looked absolutely gorgeous in her maroon Alberta Ferretti gown.  She was glowing and I loved that her dress had a message honoring her warrior ancestors.  A stunning look from head to toe.

Janelle Monae

I look forward to whenever there’s a red carpet moment and I get to see Janelle Monae.  She never disappoints.  Janelle is always serving LEWKS that leave you speechless.  She’s cementing her mark on red carpet fashion, and this Ralph Lauren number will go down as an iconic look.

Brie Larson

Ummm, so let’s talk about this look.  It’s everything.  For starters, you can’t go wrong with a blush colored gown.  And then when you add some sparkle , a thigh-high slit, and a cape…you just win.  Brie Larson did not disappoint viewers in this number from Celine.  Definitely a memorable favorite.

Regina King

Regina King…so much respect for her and how she’s just been a pillar in black entertainment.  Absolutely love and adore her.  Regina looked like a ethereal dream in Versace.  Hands down one of the best looks of the night.

Scarlett Johansson

The minute I saw ScarJo arrive I was instantly obsessed with her Oscar de la Renta gown.  Easily my favorite, favorite look of the night.  The gown was so elegant yet sexy, and I loved the different textures the dress offered.  It was perfect.  Currently figuring out how I can make this my future wedding rehearsal dress (lol).

With award season officially over, I’m looking forward to seeing how celebrities will bring it next year.  Hope you enjoyed these looks as much as I did!
